What to expect
This Hatha class consists of gentle movement, calming breathing techniques and grounding stillness. There will often be options within the asanas so you can find what feels right for you each week. We work with lengthening and strengthening as well as finding both steadiness and fluidity. After moving the body, we will transition into deep, soothing Yin postures to ground your mind and body. Yin style postures are performed closer to the earth either sitting, prone (lying on the front body) or in supine (lying back). Yin poses are normally held for between 3-5 minutes – during this time you are guided into a meditative state through breathing and awareness. As we hold the postures muscles are encouraged to relax and yield to gravity releasing tightness in the joints. You will leave the class feeling calm and rejuvenated, ready to take on whatever the week has in store with you with a greater sense of resilience. This class is suited to all levels, including beginners.
